R&R #2 |【 An Unusual Perspective of Life】

To say that I’m angry with myself is an understatement. The question goes back to why did I stop publishing? I’ll admit it, “I don’t know.” But I think I know all along. It was fear. Fear of writing something that flops. I was scared, scared of writing unpopular posts. This is all the more reason why I need to publish this piece of writing. It has been sitting in the drafts since August. Titled, “An Unpopular Opinion”, I would like to touch about my general perspective in life. Will you read on to find out more about this particular approach of thinking in life?

(1) First off the list is this. If you have something of value that you want to do, go and do it. Don’t procrastinate anymore. Don’t think about how you can do it later. Don’t think about how you can do it next time. Do it now, or it’s never because time is only so precious. Don’t wait till the next time to start doing something positive. A project, big or small is a personal achievement. If you enjoy drawing, pick up a pencil and doodle away. Don’t even think about it, just keep doing it. Likewise, if you enjoy sewing, buy a needle and some threads and cloth and sew away. If you enjoy writing, just start typing away. If you want to learn cooking, sign up for classes now. If you’re going to dance, turn on the music and dance away where no one is watching. You will feel liberated, and that’s the most carefree feeling in the world.

(2) The second thing on the list. It is good to think about and make plans for the future in advance. But you do not need to be too hard on what you do not currently have. Don’t be pressured by society about getting a boyfriend or girlfriend, getting married, whether you will have enough money to buy a house, or whether you will move up the career ladder. What will come will come. What doesn’t happen will go. Worries are but thoughts of uneasiness. They are as small as a drop of water in the ocean. If you let the sun in, you will realize its warmth is all you needed. Its light is all you wanted. Just being alive to feel that is what matters.

(3) You may not have the money you wish you have or the status you envied from others. But you still have succeeded in life for coming this far, with the few resources you have, you have always made it through alive. You are successful as now as I can tell because you’ve walked through this path to reach here, wherever you are at this moment. Look back at the achievements you’ve made on your life journey (20 years or 40 years), they matter. This does not mean that one should hold on to these small achievements too tightly and remain stagnant. Instead, it is a breather to celebrate life. So don’t let worldly desires throw you off course. Happiness is surely within reach, you just need to embrace it.

(4) Be true to yourself. You decide what matters to you, not what others say. Not what society says. You will become the best version of yourself, not the best version of another. Everything you see is perhaps but a lie on the surface, if you can at least stay genuine to yourself, isn’t that all that matters? A sense of belonging and what’s not are just but a fleeting feeling. When you can stay home to yourself, against all the odds, comes the success and higher the satisfaction. The key is, to be honest with yourself, and remain genuine as far as it is possibly allowed.

(5) Like you being you, I’m just different being me, which may not be the same as you or you and even you. Not everyone yearns to be in the limelight. I will keep to the shadows, where I feel safe. Sometimes, people are just different. And we are all different for a reason. There needs to be a balance. If we were all the same, the world would have been boring (or unbalanced). Although it is my wish that people in the shadows would choose to speak up more so that we do not continually be sidetracked by people out in the light. Nevertheless, the fact that we are different doesn’t mean superiority over another. It only appears that way because society has conditioned us to believe in that, an unreal sense of social security. We are just different, and that’s okay. We move on, and life goes on.

Life was never fair. Some people have it harder at times, dealing with society. Others just seemingly manage to waltz through the same situation just like a prince or princess charming. The first world problems faced by some people are on a whole different level. To the bystander, it may even seem ridiculous. But different people have different perspectives about life and the life they want to live. Yet, I beg to ask the question, “What you are seeking for, is it essential? Perhaps you already own the world, but you did not know. If only you would choose to be contented. Perhaps, you will be happier that way.”

If you like what you’ve just read and would like to see more of such writing, let me know by giving this post a like❤. If not, do take a look at this. It’s a different kind of writing that maybe you’d like. Cheers!
